This is a birdhouse that I created for a community art project. It is made with found wood,acorns,and bark. I picked up these materials at the local park. I then nailed, glued and grouted everything in place. I loved making the chimney!!!The birdhouses are hung from the light poles down the Main St. in the community. My birdhouse was too heavy to display on a light pole(ooppsssyyy). It is in the window of the Pinnacle Bancorp. There are 49 birdhouses on display from May until September. They are then auctioned off to benefit the local Arts Alliance. The money raised helps to support the arts and art projects within the community. Last year the project was chairs. The auction for the chairs raised about 7 thousand dollars. The auction for the birdhouse this year will be held at the new Whitewater Cultural Arts Center located at 402 W. Main St. in Whitewater, WI. The auction starts at 5pm and runs until 7pm. Come and bid on your favorite birdhouse!!!!
